Travel with Rick Steve's Radio Interview

Spending a morning with Rick Steve's was a highlight of our time back "home" in Seattle last December.

The Senior Nomad story has captured the imagination of the media in countries all over the world. From coverage in India to Ireland, Belarus to Baku and Singapore to Seattle - we've told the story many times in person and over Skype. But sitting down last December with international travel guru Rick Steves was one of our favorite interviews. Yes, he really is a nice guy, and genuinely believes in the philosophy that travel is a powerful way to better understand and contribute to the world in which we live.

We arrived at Rick Steve's corporate offices in Edmonds, Washington (about 30 minutes north of Seattle) and spent the better part a morning swapping travel stories, frugal traveling tips, and the joys of living locally as best you can wherever you find yourself. And laughing quite a bit - it was a very happy place!

The interview will run this Saturday, May 13. Rick's hour long program is divided into three parts. We were surprised and delighted to learn our interview will run in two of the three segments.

The show runs in over 500 markets across the United States and Canada as well as the Armed Forces Radio Network! If you would like to listen to the show this Saturday, click on this link and scroll down to find your state, city and radio station to learn when the program runs in your city.

Beginning Sunday, May 14th the show will be available to download and listen to anywhere in the world. You'll find it here. Hopefully you'll become a regular fan of this entertaining, information-packed weekly radio show!

Every time Michael and I finish an interview or speak to an audience about our Senior Nomad adventures we pinch ourselves. Are we really doing this? It's been almost four years now, and we have been able to sustain our mission (and stay within our budget) to live our daily lives just as we would if we'd retired in Seattle only in other peoples homes around the world. We don't take it for granted - we are so blessed and sincerely hope we are inspiring others to follow their own retirement dreams.

Living life and loving each other one Airbnb at a time - this time in Zanzibar.

One question we are always asked is how long we will continue this journey. Our answer is "As long as we are learning everyday, having fun, staying within budget and still in love!" So far, so good!

Thanks for following along,

Debbie and Michael
